Hello everyone!!
So, you probably saw my post of a Mid-Century Horse And Jockey a few days ago. I was able to find a match to this one to complete my bookend set. It's identical to the previous one I posted. The only thing different from one another are the onyx bases. This one still has the D.J. Healy Shops sticker on the bottom. As with my other, this one also measures 5 3/4” long and 5 1/2” tall.
The D.J. Healy Shops was based in Detroit and was founded by Daniel J. Healy who began his career as a dealer of ostrich feathers and then dry goods in 1887. The D.J. Healy Shops were in business until 1963. So, I really love the fact that this one still retains it's original label from the store it was purchased.
Thanks very much for taking the time to stop in for a look!!
