Fine lace work done by Marguerite Shimmons. Brief history in next photo. Relocated to The U.S. during WW2 continued the lace work her grandmother taught her.

I had to expand the picture to realize that the lace was knitted, rather than crocheted.
I've never knitted lace; however, I have crocheted lace, and it was my grandmother who taught me the art.
