Here is a piece of wood taken from John Lennon's personally owned and played 19th Century "Mason & Hamlin" pump organ. The organ was sold thru Sotheby's Auctions in NYC on June 23, 1984 as part of the "Collection of John & Yoko" sale. The items were taken from their Dakota Apartment on Central Park West. The organ was later sold by Nate D. Sanders Auction in 2013 for $74,500. The winner of the 2013 auction wanted the organ to be repaired and restored. The restorer removed some of the wood and rubber lining from the foot pedals to insure that the organ remained in "near fine" condition. The restorer saved the wood...and later put it up for sale.
