A brass plaque inside says Ray and Mary ____, Christmas 1971, Crown No. 30
The movement is labeled Crown, Fairhope, AL.
Our friends had this at their home in Bay St. Louis, MS until a hurricane caused it to "face plant". It was pretty broken up, so they gave it to us a few years back.
I can't find any solid information about this company, but I suspect it may have been absorbed by the Emperor Clock Co. - no clue as to when this happened.
Any additional information would be very much appreciated if anybody can provide details.
I've tinkered with it (also refinished/repaired/replaced) to the point where it keeps time to the nanosecond. It has a soft and musical Westminster chime on the quarters and calls out the hours.
