    Kate Malone MBE
    Born 1959, London, England

Bristol Polytechnic, Bristol, BA (Hons) Ceramics
Royal College of Art, London, MA Ceramics

    Working in London & Kent

Kate Malone’s main studios are in Kent and her glaze archive is presented in her small London studio. Kate has become one of Britain’s most well known and generous ceramic artists since graduating from the Royal College of Art, London, in 1986. Her work is often inspired by exotic travels, the growth patterns, ripeness and geometry of nature.

Using strong colours and sumptuous crystalline glazes, her work communicates a ‘feel good factor’ through optimistic cladding of her forms with abundant sculptural details.

Her work appeals to collectors of all ages with widely ranging personal interests and is represented in major public collections around the world.

Kate has been a judge on The Great Pottery Throw Down and is co-founder of FiredUp4 which is a charity helping to put clay into the hands of young people by providing studios, equipment and training in youth centres.

She is also ambassador for London Potters, and The Museum of the Home.

Malone's work is held in numerous public collections, including the Arts Council, Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery, Crafts Council, The Ashmolean Museum, Musée national de céramique de Sèvres, Victoria & Albert Museum and Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
