This signed pen drawing with wash on paper, 34 cm X 26 cm, is by successfull German artist Johann Heinrich Roos (1631-1685) and probably from ca. 1660. He specialized in pastoral idylls and longed for man and animals living together in harmony with nature. A number of museums have his paintings and drawings. Unfortunately he lost his life in a house fire, but his children survived. I bought the drawing at an internet auction. At British Museum they only have prints from etchings made after the drawing, which earlier has belonged to private collections in the UK and in Denmark. Enjoy.
