Between 93 yr old Mom, grandkids, and life in general I haven’t had the time or energy to concentrate on my costume jewelry collection. At my age, I’d better get in gear as I’m running out of time!
I bought this fun set awhile back and it’s quite sweet. Was in better shape than I thought so was very pleased. Appears to be pot metal, definitely not sterling. I did a light buff to see if it was marked, but appears not. I read several places that often times manufacturer’s mass produced pieces for department stores, who then branded them under their name. Is this correct? I’m also guessing it may have had a hang tag at sale which is now long gone.
The bracelet measures about 7.5” and the necklace about 16”. It is a darkish silver tone with ribbons, berries and leaves (?). Both have fold over clasps. It is very heavy!
I’m trying to get an idea as to manufacturer and era. My best guess is late 1930s into the 40s. I’ve exhausted Coro…thought Hobe…but am having difficulty finding anything pot metal without rhinestones in my search.
Any ideas or comments from y’all are greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Terry

I love the design, possibly Leanne might know more, especially if a Coro set !~
PhilDMorris I loved the design too! If it was sterling, it would be much easier to track the manufacturer as it looks like some of the Beau Craft. But I’m still leaning Coro…just can’t find it anywhere to confirm. Thanks!
Thank you to everyone who loved this sweet set. I truly appreciate you taking the time to look!
Since posting, I’ve confused myself more by testing it with my N52 magnet. It’s not magnetic at all. This now leads me to think it’s possibly 800 silver, although I can still find no mark. I’ve continued to buff gently and some of the brassy/copper I thought was showing through is now gone.
My baffling continues. Part of the fun in collecting is the research.
