I used to beg my dad to fish this watch out when I was a kid because it was just so fascinating to look at. After my father died, I ended up with the watch.
My father said he bought it in San Francisco in 1959. Other than that, I don't know much more about the watch.
I figured out the watch was built in 1896 by Waltham Appleton and Tracy. The font engraved on the movement makes Tracy look like "Trary." I guess it is just a weird font used by the company. It also has 17 jewels. The watch has a heavy removable crystal cover that screws off the face of the watch.
What I need to know is what model is this? The Serial # is 7577352. Any help or other information about this watch would be greatly appreciated.

It's actually made by the American Waltham Watch Co. Applton and Tracy is the watches "grade." Here's a link that explains it:

Found out what size means. I found the glossary on nawcc. I guess the only other thing I need to find out is if the chain or watch fob is original with the watch.

An 18 is about as big as you can get. They made 20s for a while but found they were just to darn big! ...lol... Yours looks like it's housed in real heavyweight "silveroid" swing-out open face case which makes it seem even bigger! Most likely, it's not the original case though. Your watch was made to be housed in a hunter case. That's why the dial isn't oriented correctly. Google hunter case pocket watch and you'll see what I mean.
