    1787 Vermont colonial coin. Coinage from Vermont were poduced from 1785 through 1788. The reverse of this coin is always weak.

      Amazing difference between obverse and reverse!

      It's believed that the reverse die was ground down to make the coin look as though it was circulated for a long time, making it more acceptable.
