This so called medal is in fact a Card Counter [or token] and has nothing whatsoever to do with the American Civil War. This is because it was produced in Birmingham. England in 1850's and normally has a Queen Victoria head [with several 50's dates] imitating the gold sovereign with exactly the same reverse. This muled eagle obverse was produced for export to America only and is less available than some of the British varieties.
