    My dad bought these painted boxes in New England about 30 years ago (they still have the price tag sticker of $650 on them). I have looked all over the Internet and the values range drastically. I was wondering if anyone could help me out in finding out some more information about these. Could anyone please help me out with some more information about this piece; age, period, maker, origin, value, etc?

      While your pantry boxes are old with a painted surface, they are not Shaker made. They lack the quality workmanship, as well as the typical finger jointed characteristic of Shaker pantry boxes. Possibly 1880's-1920.

      They look like cheese boxes for hoop cheese that someone has painted and reduced the value. They were used in the 40's and 50's possibly earlier
