I've been told there is no numismatic premium for this gold coin, but I love it anyway. I find it fascinating that this very coin was passing through the hands of people and merchants about two years after Napoleon had risen to power by coup d'etat.
FYI: The colors in this photo do not represent well the colors of the actual coin, which is clearly .90 gold when viewed in person.
The current melt value is 286. 00 which is more than twice what the collector value was a few years ago. Melt value or "collector value" , the high price always rules.
