The Wonderful Locomotive, by Cornelia Meigs and Illustrated by Berta and Elmer Hader ( The Macmillan Company of New York ). Looks like a Gift to a Sweet little boy from his Auntie. The Name associated with the personable Handwritten message is Louis Frances Jr, I believe. This was in a shop I visited this past weekend. Had to have it !!

A few years after this book was published, Cornelia Meigs won the Newbery Award for her children's biography of Louisa May Alcott, Invincible Louisa.

This looks like a wonderful book, I'm quite envious!
