I really love to purchase items that are unusual and this one fits the bill! I've owned this box with these primitive creatures on it ,for many years and have yet to find anyone who has seen or knows of one like it , maybe you have ,and can enlighten me as to it's origin. It is made of a composition material ,much like the dolls ,the design is like a treasure chest and it has a dark glaze crackled finish and several creatures that look like extinct animals ,the top is a unattached lid almost coffin like and the inside is this mustard colored ,and it also came with an old wood cannon inside. It has a dragon and a Asian looking wizard design also.

What a neat little box! I've always liked boxes of all kinds and sizes. Wonder what it's function was originally? Thanks for sharing it! :-)
