A private purchase or for home front use Mk2 with a flash of the 7th (just visible) Middlesex Home Guard. Like most early home front helmets factory finished in shiny smooth khaki colour, although this one has been repainted with a darker paint. These helmets came unmarked, no date or maker name apart from some had the chin strap lugs dated 38/39, the liners also came undated. Note also the split rivet to hold the chin strap lugs in & the leather chin strap.
