I picked this lamp up at the Salt City antiques show in Syracuse I know I've seen them before, but not lately. It does glow under the blacklight. Does anyone know waht kind of shade it would have originally had? The marble seems to be in good shape, but one of the sockets is no good. I plan to rewire it, but I hate to ruin the patina of the metal. Does anyone sell lamp parts with anything but the shiny brasss finish?

If you have to get shiny brass, clean it of absolutely all varnish etc.. Get an air-tight container large enough to put the piece in & suspend the piece over the bottom. Now pour commercial ammonia in the bottom & seal top. You can get any patina this way but check every 5 mins. as it is fast. Hope I don't have to warn about the fumes. If you forget to check it, in 15-20 mins. it will be black.

Hey upstate, Beautiful lamp !!! These were made with Houze Slag Glass parts. Not sure what kind of shades went on these. I have a few Houze lamps listed and a few very similar to yours I haven't gotten around to listing yet.I believe the socket is a fat boy.You can usually find these on old lamps in shops or on ebay.I would find a working one and replace the guts on this one to keep them as a matching pair.

Thanks, Hedge. If I can find another one, I could have pair. I'll keep an eye out, though. Thanks for the info!
