I really like amethysts. This is a simple one I got from my grandmother many, many years ago. It is marked 333 (I believe this is comparable to 10K gold) and had a maker's mark: G S

I love Amethysts too...I believe 333 is 8ct gold. Its European Hallmark for the content...nice!!

Thanks again, JayHow! I got this ring from my grandmother when I graduated from Grade 8, a long, long time ago. It is nothing special, but it has a meaning for me. By the way, I have lost some piece of jewelry too, and it bothers me a lot!
I also agree with you about beauty of simple things. Sometimes fancy designs get my attention first but clean lines seem to have more of an eternal beauty. :)
