I think these are used by blacksmiths because of the handles. The rod is iron and the numbers are solid brass. They attach by female threads imbedded into the back of the numbers. I have numbers
0-9, each one weighs approximately 2 pounds.

      Hi rodc:

I get the feeling this is a concrete numbering set.

      Thanks for sharing,

Hi Rodc: found a link to a more contemporary set, although your set would be a back saver;) http://www.steelstamps.com/concrete-stamps.html

      Later,

      TA
