I think this is a dog it might be a lion I can't tell
looks old , it is beautiful .. found this the other day , anyone knows what this is please comment

Shishi - might be korean. this is a male and it was one of a pair - the other being female. the male has a ball under his paw, whereas the female has a baby one under it's paw. aka foo dog or fu dog or buddhist lion or guardian lion. they were used and made all over asia - even in india and sri lanka. when you get to north africa, they became distinctly lions. those lions are what you see flanking the entrances of residences and apartment buildings even today [more popular in the 1920s though].
I came across this on a few occasions when I was researching for our auction last year. It or a lot of things should of gone in a specialised auction, at the time we did not have the time to go to that extent as I had just been through Chemo then had to learn how to use a computer & still trying to work out properly but getting there. I really have forgotten more them I remember. Wish I still had them we had such a variety.

I just got confused with f oo dogs then foo lion dogs th en guard dogs I didn't know what this was so thank you :)
