More men with bowlers. All are cabinet cards.
1) Distinguished man holding a bowler. Signed G. E. Simms of Barrington, RI. By Theo. F. Chase of Providence, RI. He has huge hands and a very low leftie watch chain! Cabinet card has a nice inner arch around the photo, but the card has been cut on both sides, probably to fit in a frame.
2) Distinguished man holding a bowler. Signed John J. Grady. Taken by Hodge in Providence, RI. Nice overcoat, broad tie and tie tack, and oiled hairdo. Noticeable absence of a watch chain.
3) Wrinkled man holding a bowler. No ID. Taken by Shadle & Busser of York, PA. Loud tie! Fancy leftie watch chain and fob. Nicely turned out with the oiled hairdo but the poor man obviously had no access to an iron.
4) Blue eyed man wearing a bowler. No ID. Taken by Corell of Mt. Jewett, PA. Very loud tie. Low watch chain and fob.
Interesting that all but #4 are following the always, sometimes, never tradition. Can anyone tell me the date when this became sometimes, always, never?
