Bamboo Vase, Bo Borgstrom, Aseda Glasbruk

This vase is from one of my favorite designers, Bo Borgstrom.
Borgstrom graduated from the Swedish School of Arts and Crafts in 1951 and began his career designing ceramics. I have only seen photos of some of his ceramic designs but they show his typical forms and use of colour.
He began working at Aseda in 1960 and was head designer there until the factory closed around 1976.

As you do, I have managed to pick up a fair bit of Borgstrom's work, because there is plenty of Aseda around, he was a very prolific designer, and he seems under-rated.
This vase is called Bamboo by most people, but he did design a number of other quite different styles in the bamboo theme. As far as I know this vase only came in one size but a multitude of colours: blue,green, red, purple,orange and this amber. He loved a bit of colour did Bo!
Thickly cased in clear, it has quite distinctive mould lines. Stands 240mm tall.
