A few more from the album left to me by my grandma, of life in the American colony on the Isle of Pines (isla de la juventud) Cuba.

The first image, which was nearly faded away to nothing, shows my great great grandma, my great grandma and my grandmother (the toddler). The home in the background is their second home on the island.

The second image is a whole page from one of the albums, showing some of the damage after the Great Hurricane of 1917. Some of the images credit Frick. Could this be a photographer working with Frick archives? Or is this the person's name? I am not sure.

The settlers used mules extensively for farming.

The 4th image is one of the dock at a busy time. Los Indios.

      Hahahahaha yeah man, mules. Definitely.

It seems that perhaps I get a bit hasty on the descriptions when posting on breaks at work.

Observant you are my friend. Appreciate that!

I love em too. Got roughly half scanned. They are all glued to non archival pages so many if not most are fading fast.

Some photos from this album were shot by my great grandma and some by the photographer or association "Frick" still others are unattributed.

Think the Frick archives was founded in 1922 so the hurricane aftermath images would be before the founding, being shot in 1917. No idea, but I keep looking into it.
