E. Massey Clock

This clock is at the Society of California Pioneers, although I am not sure its connection to California. Literally the only thing I know about it is that it says E. Massey London on the face, but I can't find any information about the significance of that.

I know there are a bevy of clock experts that use this website--can someone help me out?
