I have been told this is a "very fine chair" probably from England. I'll just have to take their word for it as I don't know one Windsor from another. I really do like this though... kinda quirky. It is the only Windsor I own.
This chair was inherited and the previous owner never said much about it so I can't even provide a history of it.

Gorgeous, gorgeous chair. Could you please take a pic of the complete label for me? That would be very helpful.
btw is that an Ektorp chair I see in the background, with someone taking a photo? [:>)

      Amazing condition (not the Ektorp!)

Thanks for the comment. I will have to take a better picture but it looks like the label has been written in an old fashioned type.
      It says Majestic Furniture company
      and numbered 709C (I think)
I will take another picture but cannot right now as I am away from home
      Then has B.&S. Co.

Here is an almost perfect match for your chair. There are a couple of differences. Yours has just one barley twist stretcher at the front, and I'm not sure if yours has the 'X' notched ears - I can't see from your photo. Considering the price for the chair I found, it might be worthwhile sending some photos of yours to some reputable antique dealers, (more than one) specializing in furniture. Personally, I wouldn't take the chair anywhere.

The Thames Valley is a specific area in England.

As I said, you have a beautiful Barley Twist Windsor chair.

I've been trying to find a suitable match for the Majestic Furniture Company - B.&S. Co. - there are a few leads that take me nowhere I'm afraid. I'll keep looking.

I think it is quite interesting and innovative in that it has QUEEN ANNE Cabriole style legs. Very nice indeed!

Dev Oak. Could that be Devonshire Oak or Devon Oak?
