This is my Little Pocket Knife (10 inch blade) that I often carry with me for my walks in the woods as it's just right for removing branches blocking the trail, shaving bark or even cutting down dead trees, It holds it's edge very well as I have used it for the above for many years and still almost razor sharp. However I have no idea of the maker or age, I've had it 35 years or so and it was well used by my Uncle before that, It was given to me in a WWII USMC heavy duty leather sheath but I don't think it's related to the knife at all.
Any idea of the maker or age?
It looks like someone took it to a bench grinder with a wire brush. I assure you WWI sheath has nothing to do with this. Not even close within decades.
Right on both fhrjr2 except it was a hand grinder with a abrasive buff pad just before I got it guess he wanted to clean it up a bit before giving it, I didn't think the sheath went with it either, OH I fixed that to WWII not one, I'm guessing this was made in or about the 1960s

This is an Army Air Force folding survival machete adopted in 1942 for inclusion in the B-4 Emergency Bail Out Kit. They were made by Cattaraugus, Case, Imperial, and others. Originally came with a grey leather sheath which had a fold-over flap with a snap closure. Many brand new ones were sold by the pallet in the 1950s at military salvage auctions and Army-Navy stores.
Thanks UncleRon Knife given by one Uncle and the info by another, My dad was Army Air Corps in WWII I put a bit of his story was in a post last week or so.
So the knife and sheath are WWI they just weren't made for each other, The sheath I got with it is straight no flap and made to attach to a belt likely a fixed blade and maybe a bayonet, I'll post that someday soon.
