Does anyone know how old this compass is? I don't know the manufacturer either. It was inside this box from a Jeweler from Oshkosh, WI. I'm not sure if it came from them or if this was an old pocket watch box that someone placed a compass in. The inside has Germany printed on it.

Well, we know it's from Germany! The slot on the side is so that the condensation is released. I've had a brass one similar and it had a little knob so you could close that part. I couldn't begin to guess the age, other than I imagine it is quite old. No one placed a compass in an old watch btw, it's an original piece.
