Found my grandfather’s really old belt buckle. I need help with identifying it. My grandfather has passed away so I can’t ask him. It appears to maybe be Mexican or native American Indian. I think it’s made of brass & looks like a insects face. I tried another place online & received just 1 reply. They said it doesn’t look Native American Indian. I also maybe think it could be Asian. I really don’t know what to think. I’m asking for any info y’all can give.

Construction is typical of late 20th century-- 1960s at the earliest.

It's a puzzler for sure. Def not Native American and I doubt even Mexican but I don't know. Maybe from India? When looking at your pics, at first it looks like there could be a name in there but then when I bring it closer, I don't see it. Try the paper and pencil over it and see what shows up.
