If my finds could talk they would say alot and all these lines would tell so many stories who was the man behind these works from long ago stone art has been a practice since the beginning of man carving markings in caves in the time first traces of human life in africa and siberia and europe and now here in the americas. No one knows how old the americas is all we know the first people came across from europe and france and spain so these artworks have no dates and times all they have are the finger impressions and tooling well i can tell you my collection has grown well over 200 they were all recovered from Bethania NC by me Daniel j Hamel aka dannytwofeathers this artifact goes to the woodland era it is a weapon very well polished done by a mound builder as all my. Abrading stones most were coming out of a wall that had collapsed took what i can from my horde of art works to get them looked at. Its very true that there from the woodland period pottery shards i have found and bowl tie in to the woodland culture some of the other finds are archaic like my nutting stone and some grinding stone they are middle to late period archaic tools. I had so much info on my finds nothing i said contradicted to the finds and getting them looked at was good to know some do remain skeptic to more people come forward with these finds and put them out there.
great piece of native history. Your entire collection is great.
Thank you i just got some great info on some of my finds this one is in fact a war club and shaft straightener for the arrowheads never knew that this find had another purpose besides bashing heads but to only to be used for another purpose also who says you can kill two birds with one stone clubbing and making the shafts straight as well for the arrowheads preparing for battle was one reason to have this kind of weapon in hand
