      It looks like it could a remake chair, from the early to mid 1900's, or newer, copying chairs from the early 1800's, but I could be wrong. The pressed mark is interesting though! It's the wear on the arms, and bottom rail, but no where else that makes me think that, there should be back and seat wear also if it was an older chair, and the black color is too even, for it to be the Varnish turning black. Just my thoughts! Nice looking chair though, I have a Rocker similar, that my Parents had, that was from the 1930's that They got second hand! :^)
