    Some Old Screwdriver Tools

Was digging through my toolbox and came across these tools. I often buy oddball tools and throw them in my toolbox, some to never be used.

Miller Falls no. 199 Offset Screwdriver. I believe this is 1960s? This is a fixed screwdriver, no ratchet. Has 4 different style heads. This was the old days, before we had bits we could swap in and out. This would be pretty handy at that time.

Stanley Yankee Screwdriver. This is a 2 headed offset Screwdriver with a ratchet mechanism. Not sure when this was first produced? They made several versions of this. This one has two slotted heads, so I believe it's early. And we know the "Yankee" name was used on their push drill and Screwdriver mechanism.

Lastly is this ratchet handle. I've had this in my box for about 30+ years. Never knew till now that it's a Screwdriver handle.

Palm-Grip by Kipton Industries. It's basically a 3/8" hand ratchet that attached to the top of a Screwdriver sold by Kipton. This is early to mid 1950s

And well...Kipton has some interesting history too. A train wreck caused by an engineer's watch. Apparently he dropped it in the mud and it stopped for 4 minutes during the run causing a horrific collision with another train...

      dav2no1, Cool. :-)

I like that palm grip device. Who can't use a little more torque?

      Thanks for the comments.

Kera - I knew you'd like the fact that I had patent links!
