Hello everyone!!
Another extremely rare doorstop in my collection is this antique Dutch Boy doorstop. This one is unlike most any doorstop that you'll see, as it's made of wood and cast iron. The Dutch Boy is solid hand painted wood and the base is cast iron. Very few of the wood doorstops survived the test of time, but due to the condition of this one, it's evident that this one was kept indoors and cared for by it's original owner. Notice the square nuts on the backside that secures the Dutch Boy to the cast iron base. These were not used on later doorstops in the 1900's. This one dates back to the late 1800's, though no one knows who the manufacturer was. He stands 11 5/8" tall and 10 1/8" wide. He weighs in at 5lbs 12oz.

Thanks!! I wish I could take credit for that paint job and I don't believe Vincent did this one either:) , He's 100% original, which is absolutely amazing, given his age. He's only missing a couple of chips of paint toward the bottom.
