Hello everyone!!
Another Halloween related doorstop that I have is this cute little cast iron "Scaredy Cat". I love this design and actually have three of these in my collection, as seen in pic #4. These appear to be a solid one piece design, but they're actually a two piece design that is welded together. Many folks try to sell these as antique or vintage, but they are actually neither. They are also not reproductions. Though there were a few very similar Scaredy Cats produced by various foundries in the early 1900's, there just never was a cat like this particular design produced until a few years ago and were either made in Taiwan or China. Though they are not antique or vintage, they will be one day. As I've mentioned in previous posts, I have many new and reproduction doorstops in my collection and they are almost as much fun to collect as the antique and vintage ones. These "Scaredy Cats" stand 7 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" long. They each weigh just over 3 1/2lbs.
