Hello everyone!!
Another of my cigar and match holders is this rare one from the 1870's-1880's. You probably saw the doorstop I recently posted with this very same gentleman sitting on a bale of cotton. That same figure was also seen sitting atop a LaRosa cigar box in the late 1800's. I happen to have a reproduction of that cigar box I'll eventually post.
This cigar and match holder is made of spelter and has lost a bit of paint as well as one of it's basket handles over the past 130+ years, but in great condition considering it's age. The third basket would have been used for cigar ashes. It measures 8" tall, 9 1/2" long and 5" deep. This an extremely rare find and I'm thrilled to add this one to my collection.
