Here is a 4"W cobalt blue glass elephant on a platform, made by Mosser Glass in 1973 perhaps for a private company, as the raised imprint has M for Mosser, then E.W.R and 73, also a shell-like raised imprint on bottom. I believe the elephant design is formerly from L.E. Smith

For your fabulous comments & praise I thank you guys

Phil and Dave, this cobalt blue is such a rich color isn't it, I think it's one of my fave blue shades as it's closest to purple. Gotta be careful in pix though or the animal's features or engravings don't show up

Scott and Deano, I'm always happy to add as much info as possible to my posts and not misrepresent, as people look to our site for accuracy. Despite having alot of glass animal books & catalogs there are always some I can't find, then I'll scour the 'net for more info. If anyone finds out what the E.W.R. imprint stands for please let me know, or else I'm assuming this was specially made as a company award...this often happens, in fact my Mats Jonasson seahorse had been awarded to a company executive for his 25 years of service, and my husband had several incremental anniversary gifts from his co over the years, we are still enjoying a big screen TV they had given him some time ago :)

Great little elephant Jenni, he's a really strong dark blue which I love. The pose is also more natural with trunk down, but it also gives him a great rounded look so maybe he's an Asian elephant instead?!

Lauren I totally agree, the trunk down pose looks more natural for an elephant and also exotic - I keep remembering in the circus when they would have an elephant parade and they came out holding their trunks & tails in a line. And I really do miss the animals in the circus it's not the same today. Thank you for your fantastic comment as always :)

Hey Jenni, thank you for dropping a message about BB2. Yes, I was missing his humorous comments for a while now. I`ll try sending an email. Take care!

You too mcheconi and thank you for the love. It may just be BB2 lost interest in CW, as I'm sure you know, lots of nice people who were 'regulars' here are either gone or stop by sporadically. I really hope BB2 is OK he was always interesting and yes very funny :)
