I have this large red rhinestone brooch with marquis cut stones, round stones and 8 tear-shaped amber stones. My question is about the back - I think this is called 'cut-back' design but I can't find any information to date this piece. It is substantial and weighs 25 grams.
The back looks like it was designed & made and then riveted to another layer. The pin mechanism sits on a gold-tone round 'snowflake' design piece that is riveted on.
When was this type of brooch made? Where? Who? I can't find a mark. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
It is a good quality costume piece and not very old, late 1950s or 60s at the earliest, great dimension.
Looks like Beaujewels construction they only signed their earrings I believe. I agree with davy286 about the time frame. Google Beaujewels jewelry, good luck.
Soon as saw the back I thought of Beaujewels also, vintage mad is right about Beaujewels signing their earrings and rarely thier brooches. Lovely piece
Thanks so much! As soon as I googled Beaujewels I knew this was one of their pieces. Thanks for putting me on the right path .... now if only I could find the matching earrings. Love this site.
Soo lovely - and I'm learning more too, I didn't know much either about Beaujewels... :)
