Does anyone know anything about this very nice lamp? There are no makers markings at all. It is "old" judging from the cord. I know it is not Frankart, but I have no idea if this is another brand from the era, or if it is an "old" reproduction...does anyone recognize? Lamp works great, and had a 1950's era original lightbulb, according to electrician.

Wow it looks awesome and I have never seen anything like it. Even if it's a reproduction it's a beautiful piece. What's it made of? Is the lighted area made from bakelite, plastic or glass? You are lucky to own this.

I have collected this type of lamp for over 35 years. I would say it is definately a period piece in the syle of Frankart. There were many companies that made these. Frankart, Nuart, A.M.W. (american metal works -ronson) and many that didn't mark their wares. These are usually cast from pot metal, or white metal. They can become fragile with age. The shade on yours is exceptional, and would be extremely difficult to replace. Probably dates to the 30's. These type of lamp were reproduced in the 70's and 80's by a company called sassparella. There is currently somebody reproducing Frankart pieces and selling them on ebay. Your shade would be very expensive to duplicate.

Thanks to all for the input! I agree, it is authentic to the period whoever the manufacturer was. The glass is amazing, and clearly old.
