This is one of the Violet Ray machines which I have in my electromedical "quack" collection. These Violet Ray (Ultraviolet) machines were pretty popular for use in everything from medical offices to beauty salons and supposedly could "cure" just about anything that ailed you. This one still works well and my kids, patients and students all really enjoy getting a little shock from this when it arcs across to your skin. Tried to capture a good picture of this. When workign it gives off a neat purple light and the spark when you get close enough to it. It produces ozone which you can smell when it is being used.
