This is a pale yellow Model 500 telephone made by Western Electric and distributed by Bell Systems starting in 1949. They were the most common household telephone at the time, some models were made to hang on the wall. The model evolved somewhat over time, I believe this is a 70's model based on the style of the dial. The cord is not original, the original would have also been pale yellow. Although it is not uncommon today to see two toned models, they were not originally distributed that way.

Yours might be earlier. A lot were changed to the pushbutton models in the 70's
That's what I thought, but I saw one like this dated in the early 70's. Perhaps it was dated incorrectly.
