Got these two small photos this weekend. I didn't know I had them till I got home and found them in the lot. They do not look to be in the best shape, but I just thought I would share them anyway.

Watch buying antique photos-- I have found it to be addicting!

Thanks trunkman. Scott you may be right, because I do find them interesting. Do you have any idea how old they might be?

They are from the 1880s- 1890s.

Thanks Scott, This may be the start of a new collection. First I need to learn more about it. I did not know I had them at first. I have been buying lots and keeping what I like then selling off the rest to cover some of the cost. I found these in one of those lots.

      Good start.

The details can make a big difference. MOST tintypes of this era have little value, but small details can make a big difference in values. Anything that is odd or unusual or out of place will add to the interest and value.

Let me know if I can help out with any specifics.

I already have some very old photos, but none on metal.

Post them-- I like to look at any old images.

Also, when you have a chance take a look at some of my postings. I have a hundred or more images posted on Collectors Weekly.
