This postcard features the U.S. Battleship "Maine", which I just learned on Wikipedia that it had a very short life of 8 years. It was launched in 1890 and was destroyed in an unsolved explosion in the Havana Harbor while protecting U.S. interests during the Cuban War of Independence.
The ships explosion was investigated by many including recently by History Channel and National Geographic. The story on the wiki page was interesting to read. I wonder if these prints are from photos or hand drawn, I enlarged the front portion of the ship where it appears a ceremony is taking place, that made me wonder if hand drawn would you take the time to draw all those tiny people.
