Unusual box, not sure what this is ?
I thinks it's a Civil war Picture on the box but not really sure. It's got dear or some Animal fur on the bottom. It's got a Auction tab on it but it doesn't look rite to me but I like it,sort of lol.

Hopefully some our military guys will catch this. Can you make out the names?
I was hoping so too. I haven't a clue what is say on the box. It's a Strange one :/
Can you make out the names written below the pictures of the men?
Sure and Begorra, tis the Irish Brigade!
The Harp and shamrocks around the portraits are the clue that confirms the fellow on the right would be Col Thomas Francis Meagher, who commanded the regiment in the US Civil War. I’m not sure who the others are. You can also make out the harp on the brigade’s battle Flag behind and to the left of the horseman, who might again be Meagher.
Some guesswork on my part - although the portrait does not look like him, could the name under the left portrait read “Col. Corcoran”? If so, he led the 69th New York Regiment, part of the Irish Brigade
Chrisnp you are a genius! Any guesses if this is from the Civil War? Maybe a returning soldier as this was found in England?
That's a beautiful box! I agree with chrisnp on the ids. As for the guy in the middle, the only other Irish colonel I can think of is Col. Mulholland, but there doesn't seem to be enough room there for such a long name. I think the box would post date the war and was made as a remembrance piece.
You guys are great :) I will take some better photos and do a second post. Thanks alot for for Information you have gave me already
Oh ok,that would be better :)
