There are three basic types of cigar cutters: pocket clippers or punchers, tabletop cutters, and scissors-style cutters. Over the years they've been made in every imagineable shape, from common and precious metals, often integrating decorative elements. Tabletop cutters generally range from the elegant and simple to the elaborate and figural. Pocket cutters, which were fashionable as well as functional, are often coupled with watch or key chains.
