The roots of Miller Brewing Company of Milwaukee go back to Frederic Miller's purchase of the Plank Road Brewery in 1855. Miller was pasteurizing his beer by 1886, and the Miller High Life brand arrived in 1903. But the thing Miller is perhaps best known for is its advertising campaign for its Lite brand in the 1970s. These ads featured some of the top sports players and personalities of the day, from Mickey Mantle to John Madden, as well as comedians such as Rodney Dangerfield.
