This view is from the engineer's seat of The Union Pacific's X-4012 "Big Boy" Cab. This engine rests at The Steamtown NHS in Scranton, PA.
The Big Boy cab tours are open only two days a year, and I was lucky to have visited on one of those days, September 1st, 2013. I have a few other pictures of this engine from the outside posted on CW, which can found in the gallery, or more easily in my Railroadiana folder.
I certainly hope that you will enjoy this rare view of this magnificent piece of machinery. I am glad to have been able to post this, as I was so very fortunate to have gotten into this engine's cab.....
