I'm sort of a purist with this stuff, so I'd restore them to any color that was commonly used in my neck of the woods (NJ). Depending on the town and the time, these could have been painted dark green (most commonly), or yellow, grey/black, or even silver. Green is my favorite. I have a Crouse-Hinds DT like these and I've kept the original yellow because it's in really good shape.

Yeah Spitball, I found a quad set of these Crouse-Hinds art deco style in a barn. I've sand blasted 2 of them to restore, but they kinda fell to the wayside. Two many projects going on at once. I might sale 2 or do some trading or something. What do you collect? Thank for the comment. Later.

I enjoy all sorts of old "street furniture", with traffic signs and signals being my favorite. I only have kept a few pieces with me - I used to have many more. One of the signals I kept is a Crouse-Hinds DT like yours, except mine has the visors cast as a single piece with the door, rather than the removable visors. I believe the option to have either cast or removable visors was always offered with this model.
