I bought this at an antique shop in San Francisco several years ago. I was told it is from the turn of the century when Chinese opium dens were popular. I was told it is ivory, but I don't know for sure. I would like to know how much it is worth.

It looks to be a 19th century pice. If it is all Ivory you are looking about $1000.00. But they also made them of Bone back in the 20's-30's. If its bone then around 350.00-400.00. I can't tell if its ivory by pictures, can not see grain. Take a look at this link, notcie the poker chips, if your piece has the grain shown in chips, mostn likey ivory. Dave

Looks like bone. I see you only joined to post this piece, we're not here for free appraisals

This is a modern day bone fake opium pipe. You can find a number of them on various Auctions sites like ebay.

Definitely a fake. Most likely made of resin and/or bone. As commented by someone else above, easily obtained on eBay claiming to be antique but are simply novelty pieces.
