I got the necklace from my mother. She brought it back from one of her travels a few years ago. I don't remember from where...I will ask her. It looks almost exactly the same as the one Valentino posted earlier. Thats why I decided to post it.
I started collecting gemstones when I was just 7 years old! I had a huge collection of minerals and fossiles and I knew everything about them. Years later I started collecting jewelry and for an unknown reason I never bought gemstone jewelry. I think I liked them more in their natural form. About one year ago I changed my mind, and I started buying gemstone jewelry. I think its great. You should never limit your own possibilities.
I own some more malachite jewelry but these were the only ones I seemed to find. I posted the art deco ivory and malachite bracelet earlier here on CW.

I asked my mother, and she just bought this in an old monastry nearby from some old monks. It was 'new' old stock from when they worked in Congo, so you were right with Zaire, Val.
