18" x 12" x 10" Salesman's Demonstrator of an automatic gate patented October 11, 1887, patent # 371,238 by William R. White, of Neoga, Illinois. The model only has one operating arm instead of the two shown in the patent drawing. Was it to keep the model a compact size for transport? Label on the right end says "Pioneer Gate Company, Chicago, Illinois". The photo on the right is a manually operated gate observed recently on a completed auction.

Anyone have any information about the Pioneer Gate Company? I struck out.
