    Hi
    I think this plate may be Japanese? I have googled and searched but cannot find a similar pattern and the makers mark? It is all Chinese to me. LOL, I think the birds are flying Cranes.
    If anybody recognises the pattern etc I would love to know.

      Jim is right Elaine but I think it might be Japanese " Kutani" the red and gold with the crane design is a typical pattern.There area lot of variations by region though. I have a red vase I posted a week ago. Looked at a lot of images and this looks similar to some pieces I've seen. -Mike-
