This was bought at auction in a box of allsorts for a few pounds, it is marked on the rear with the maker marks of m.p.l its definatly silver backed with a turned edge , I thought it maybe an opal but I think the silver is enamelled then covered by a glass front dome , it must be from the 1930s ish I would have thought.. comments welcome
It's hard to tell from the photo I thought it may have been moonstone but as I said it's hard to tell & I'm learning
Thanks, I looked at it with a 9x magnifyer and it looks like the silver back has been grooved and enamelled or painted before the glass front was put on but I am no expert!!
Have you asked moonstone it is in her field as she loves her moonstones no pun
